Spirit Of Beckley

Since its inception in 1987, the Spirit of Beckley has been the largest fundraiser of the year for the YMCA. Donations made in honor of the Spirit of Beckley recipient directly benefit the Y’s youth programs. The impact of the campaign over the last 34 years is in the numbers.

The YMCA of Southern West Virginia is proud to honor Dr. Tony Kelly as the 35th recipient of the Spirit of Beckley Community Service Award. The award is given each year to an individual who has, throughout his or her life, selflessly worked to enrich our area and positively affect the lives of the people that reside here. This person’s leadership and dedication of their time and resources is exhibited without the expectation of recognition, for the personal satisfaction comes privately and without notice. By the very definition, Dr. Kelly exemplifies what the Spirit of Beckley is all about – his dedication to making our area a better place to work, live and play.

In the spirit of Dr. Kelly’s willingness to give back to our community, we are asking you to help raise $150,000 in his honor for this year’s Spirit of Beckley.
